Y2K: It’s Already Too Late is computer manual author Jason Kelly’s first delving into the world of fiction, written in 1998. In this novel, Mark Solvang heads Solvang Solutions–a multinational Y2K protection software company faced with the heady task of saving the world from certain destruction. Intrigue! Action! Computers! The following are excerpts from my new favorite book of all-time…

~~~
~~~

~~~
General Marquist looked like he’d joined a wax museum.
~~~

Munoz’s neck looked like hell. A blue ring stretched both directions from the black, bloody crater where the pellet was still lodged under his skin. It ruined Tom’s soup to look at it.

~~~
The room sat silently except for the sound of an occasional sip of soup.
~~~

The pleasures of chicken soup and soft bandages disappeared.

~~~
Tom didn’t care about protocol.
~~~

Without a word, Munoz and Woo reached inside their own coats and pulled their Eagles.

~~~
MORE TO COME!
